NATURE
The ribera Salada (banks of the “salty river”) is 40 km long and passes through the municipal territories of Odèn, Lladurs and Castellarde la Ribera. The saltiest parts of the river are found in its lower course, just before it joins the River Segre.
To visit this location, it is necessary to take the Solsona road and head towards Bassella (C-26). After about 3 km, visitors should turn off to the right and follow the road to Cambrils and then continue on for a further 12 km to Pont del Clop. At this point, the river basin adopts a rather curved form, which explains why this section is referred to as the Canal Serpent (snake channel). When the weather is good, this is an excellent place to swim in the river’s crystal-clear waters.
