For any nature-loving Catalan, one of its objectives is to ascend to the Pica de Estats (Pallars Sobirà), the highest mountain in Catalonia and probably also the hardest mountain to climb in our Pyrenees. Its paths are turned on summer weekends into genuine hiking processions with a unique idea: reaching the summit of Catalonia, where you can enjoy the most magical views of the entire Pyrenees and from where, according to them, one very clear day you can greet the mountain of Montserrat. The starting altitude is 1,860 metres (1,860 ft) in Boet’s plane, up to 3,143 metres (1,314 ft) above the summit, with about 6 hours of ascension. Grampons and piolet with hard snow are needed on the northern slope.
